As the Lead designer for the Communication Experience on Meta's AI Glasses, I executed on both the strategy and craft for how messaging experiences via voice dictation, handwriting (silent input), as well as reading and replying to messages.

I set the standard for motion designs, built a scalable visual system to make the 1st person POV feel, glanceable, functional, and delightful.

Feature 04 Notifications.
FoA Dynamic Notification — In phase 1, notifs scale to fit the user's abbreviated name and message content. The pill shape increases profile pic size for glancability. Single notification (Gina G: Here!) taps to expand into a full notification (Gina Garcia: Here!) with quick reply chips.
UI Concept Tradeoffs — Comparison of six notification UI concepts (Day 0 POR, Dynamic Card, Glint, Glint + Name, Glint + Name + Content [FoA Recommended], Glint + Content) rated across six criteria: Presence / UI Weight, Name / Number, Text Preview, Media Preview, Profile Photo, and Speed / Time to Task.
Feature 05 Gestures.
Gestures — EMG and touchpad gestures are mirrors of each other to help recall. Gestures are currently undergoing a refresh based on fishfooding feedback and UXR. Organized into five categories: System (Wake / Sleep), Navigation (Select / Back / Target / Scroll), Quick Actions (Meta AI), Audio (Volume / Prv-Next / Play-Pause, no EMG), Capture (Photo / Video, no Captouch), and Power (On/Off).

Ping Flows — message type flows for the Meta AI Glasses messaging experience.
Message Variants — Across messaging, there exist 62 variants from: voice recordings, gifs, web links, videos, notification formats based on the content, and including error states. Designs were also made across inactive, active, and selected states for all these system components.
